Orange Paper

Orange Paper shows the top Hacker News stories of each day, with a short summary of every article, so you can see what a story says without leaving the page.

Stories

  • The home page lists the 30 top stories of each day, ranked by points. More at the bottom loads earlier days.
  • Hide a story you are done with. Read stories turn gray, and a setting hides them.
  • Settings stay in your browser. There are no accounts.

Summaries

  • Click a story to open a panel with a short summary of the article. The discussion follows once the summary is done.
  • An AI model reads the article and writes the summary. It can be wrong, so the panel always links to the original.
  • Each summary is written once and then shared by every reader.
  • When a site blocks reading, the summary comes from an archived copy or from the discussion, and says so.

Comments

  • Comments start collapsed. Open one with [+], or all of them with Expand all. Sort by rank, newest, or oldest, and change the text size.
  • Keyboard: j and k move between comments, h jumps to the parent, l to the first reply, Enter collapses, Esc closes.
  • Click a username to see karma and profile details.
